Welcome to Mariánské Lázně

Mariánské Lázně is the second largest spa town in the country, and together with Karlovy Vary and Františkovy Lázně forms one of the most touristically attractive parts of the country, known as the West Bohemian Spa Triangle. This region enjoys special status in the Czech spa industry and even aspires for inclusion on the UNESCO’s world cultural heritage list. Spa care in the Czech lands represents hundreds of years long tradition with a reputation as one of the best in the world.

Mariánské Lázně appealed to many elite artists, scientists, and politicians, who frequently spend their time there and enjoyed both the pulsing energy of the town with its beautiful neo-Baroque architecture and peaceful forests and hills embracing the town. Some of the famous visitors of Mariánské Lázně were Gustav Mahler and Richard Wagner who composed their most famous works in Mariánské Lázně; Rudyard Kipling, who trained at the Mariánské Lázně’s Royal Golf Club; Alfred Nobel and Maxim Gorkij, who visited for treatments in the health resorts of the city. 16 cold mineral springs have been proved as beneficial in treatment of metabolic, respiratory, and oncological disorders.
